Power
Finesse Your Way Through Your Practice
Focus: Hip-opening, shoulders, Strength, Yoga Conditioning
This class is a way to learn to add power and finesse into your practice. Sometimes we think that if we just try harder, we can get to those enigmatic postures. One lesson from yoga is that by trying harder it won’t always yield results in our practice. It’s fine to try your best, but we must learn to incorporate our breath and meet the poses where they are in our bodies instead of just muscling our way into them. This sequence of poses leads us to Astavakrasana (Eight-limbed pose) and instead of over-effort, we use finesse and counterbalance to help achieve it. Enjoy the ride and let the results be where they are and through that awareness, you can develop a deeper practice.
