Practice and Expand

Focus: Adductors, Groin, Hip-opening

Many times, we come to yoga with a goal in mind like being more flexible or trying to progress to sophisticated postures sooner rather than later.  It’s great to have goals and work to achieve progress but in yoga we need to remember the journey and not the destination. This class is about the journey as we practice the types of postures we need to do to move onwards.  We start with standing postures to prepare for our bodies for the deeper hip work. Class progresses to Kapotasana (Pigeon Pose), Upavistha Konasana (Seated Wide-legged forward fold) and Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) to open outer hips and inner thighs.  Class winds down and leads us to the point of the journey; regrouding and resting in Savasana.
