Yoga changed my life, my body, soul and mind.
Tim Seutter
I was working as a firefighter, in my late 20’s, and I realized I was not achieving optimum health, despite being in the prime of my life and in top shape.
On a friend’s suggestion, I decided to try out yoga and quickly realized that yoga was a non-negotiable in my life.
When we moved as a family to NZ, the challenges were more prominent than what we expected, and as a result, yoga became the only constant for me to connect to myself and others. It became something that bonded me with my new firefighter colleagues because some of them were intrigued and decided to give it a try.
After a few months of teaching yoga, at the fire station, I saw these firefighters got stronger, fitter, and through yoga, their health and mental well-being also improved.
I decided to go further and become a yoga teacher.
My yoga teacher training was life-changing and I emerged from it with a completely different perspective on life, a new way of thinking, and a more holistic way to maintain my overall health and mental well-being.
I decided I wanted to share this powerful transformation with as many people as I could, so that they too, could reduce stress, strengthen their bodies and mind, and find their life’s true purpose in the process.
Yoga empowered me by healing my body and mind, connected me to my spiritual self, and taught me to reduce stress and live peacefully. These changes in my being anchored me during the stressful times when there were many uncertainties about my future.
Moving around the world with a young family was challenging, and yoga gave me a lifeline to maintain my inner peace.
After going deeper into my asana practice through teaching, my body and mind became more resilient.
This became especially poignant when I had to take time off work as a firefighter as a result of the cumulative effects of PTSD after 15 years of responding to emergencies.
Things finally came to a breaking point, and I had no choice but to take time away from the career I loved. This was a heart-breaking time in my life, I felt like I was lost, and I didn’t know what was going to happen in my life.
During this period, yoga and meditation became my sole refuge. It helped me get through a very challenging time and gave me a ray of hope to believe in myself and led me to the path of rebuilding myself stronger.
As I transformed, I became a better and more confident version of myself. My transformation empowered me with the desire to show others how yoga can bring full awareness to the present moment and create peace within ourselves.
I am fortunate that through my career as a firefighter, and my passion as a yoga teacher, I can help people see the world differently. Whether it is rescuing someone from a fire, a car accident, or helping people through the power of yoga, I now know my path is clear.
We all want to be connected, be in the present moment, and feel fulfilled with our lives.
We can stop feeling unfulfilled, stressed, undervalued by deepening our connection to our true self, through our mind.
We can align with our life’s purpose when we stop being stressed trying to maintain an exterior body image, that does not resonate with our core being.
If you’re reading this and many things are clicking for you right now, there’s a possibility that you are not giving your body and mind the full attention that it deserves. I’m willing to bet that you want to fully experience true transformation, deepen the connection with yourself, and connect to a yoga practice that will help you feel alive.
Yoga will transform your life so that you too, can align with your soul’s true purpose.
True transformation occurs when we transcend our stereotypes, negative self-talk, and genuinely believe we all have something special in us, to make the world a better place.
Our destiny isn’t limited to having a job, paying off debt, and growing old. We are designed to use our bodies and minds to explore the world, have fun, create epic adventures, live, love, and make the most of every moment we get to be alive.
We are here to make the world a better place by deepening the connection with ourselves, each other, and building communities to collectively create a new paradigm and a world of positive change.
Yoga changed my life, my body, soul and mind. It has made me proud of who I am and what I have become, and it can do the same for you too.
